St Ignatius Men's Club
The purpose of the Men's Club is to be a social, service and faith formation organization for all men in the parish and school and to build parish community through ongoing fellowship, service and out reach.
The Men’s Club will have consistent meetings, service projects and social events to help us all be better connected as a parish family. Monthly meetings are scheduled for the fourth Thursday of each month, September – May with summer activities and service projects as scheduled.
Next gatherings will be on:
First, you are invited to a Men's Club meeting on Wednesday May 20th at 6:00 pm for a general meeting which will consist of a light dinner of sausages, dogs, salad, chips along with beer and pop. The nature of the meeting will be a discussion of what future events/activities you would like to have the Men's Club engage in. So bring your ideas and we will run them up the flag pole. Additionally bring a deck of cards and chips if you wish to play cards after the meeting. John Scott would like to get a few games of pinochle going. As always this is a RSVP event so we can know the numbers and obtain the correct amount of eats.
Second, Richard Wolff of our parish works as a security supervisor for Crowd Management Services CMS which provides security at event venues. CMS provides opportunities for Community Services and/or Religious Organizations to raise money by assisting security at events to a tune of about $10 per hour. CMS (Richard) needs assistance at an upcoming event on Sunday May 17th at 8 am for The Rock n Roll Portland 1/2 Marathon. Volunteer duties will consist of standing at intersections along the marathon route and stopping cars from traversing the marathon path and thus nailing the runners as they come by. Volunteers are to arrive 30 minutes prior to the event for on-site briefings and instructions. This event will/could consist of standing at your security location for 6 to 7 hours. All funds will go to the Men's Club. Let me know if you are interested in this item.
